CNIFF Moved by Two Weeks

The New CNIFF Dates are 7 – 11 November 2012

1 September 2012

Dear Friends, colleagues, and supporters of CNIFF,

Ethiopia faced a great tragedy with the death of our prime Minister as well as the patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox church.  As a visionary leader and a prominent figure of African politics and leadership, the death of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi is a great loss to our nation and our continent.

Two week of national mourning has been declared and all public attention is geared towards rediscovering the life and deeds of the late Prime Minister. We, the organisers of the Colours of the Nile International Film Festival very much feel the loss as well. And of course we would have loved to hold the festival in a more festive public spirit.

Considering the context and situation that affects key festival organisational tasks the organisers of Colours of the Nile International Film Festival decided to move the date of the festival by two weeks. Please take note that the new dates of Colours of the Nile International Film Festival are 7 – 11 November 2012.

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences due to the change of dates which is necessitated by the unexpected and tragic events.

Sincerely yours,

The CNIFF Team
